Learning to Program in Python for Kids

of all ages and Linux on a Raspberry Pi by Philip M Russell

  1. Go to the Raspberry Pi website Downloads
  2. Download Raspbian "wheezy"

  3. Now go to the  Image writer for windows web site and download this program.
  4. Place your SD card in an SD reader/writer attached to your PC
  5. Run Image writer for windows.
  6. Make sure you put in the drive letter of your SD Card
  7. Press Write and wait.
  8. When finished, extract your card and plug into the reverse side of the Raspbeery Pi.
  9. Plug in all the leads - Power last.
  10. Login as pi  password raspberry
  11. Type startx to give you the Graphical Windows version of Linux or
  12. Start typing in Linux commands
  13. For the power to install programs and the like use the command su the type in the commands to install files.
