Blogs? Wiki? Forums? People like writing about what they think. Others like to read what others have to say. What are the differences between a Wiki, a Blog and a Forum?
What can your site contain that will interest other people?
Why change the information / material on a regular basis? At what rate should this information be changed. Daily? weekly? monthly? AT what rate do people return to your site. At what rate would you like them to return to your site? At what rate can you update your site. How much current information can you maintain? How often do you wish to update your site.
Weekly updates are usually more than enough of a rate for most sites. A significant amount of material on the website needs to change to attract a person to revisit the site. To be worthwhile, many people would expect to find 10 or so pages changed.
Many sites update weekly to reflect the changes that go on in the company on a weekly basis. Sometimes it is worth highlighting this information so that the users know when to revist the website.
