Go through structure of the web pages. All students will require a minimum of 10 set of results

Plan a web site - Storyboard

Intro to this session

New School of Organ Studies. Create a storyboard for this site. - look at the resources for ideas - completed storyboards to be handed in During session 8 (week 4). See the Assignment Timetable Use your imagination and creativity as well as your sense of appealing to the right audience for the client's main purpose.

1. You should begin by developing and printing out a one page initial mock interview consisting of 5 - 8 questions (because our client is hypothetical at the moment, to include the types of possible answers you might expect ... remember that this client probably does not know a lot about the internet). These questions should help determine purpose, audience, scope, as well as artistic style issues. Ideas

2. The next step for you is to create a short written purpose statement clarifying what you approach will be. Then decide on a site structure and map out the relationship between pages on a single sheet of paper. This is a rough version of the site map - since it will probably change before you create the real thing. It should include written descriptions of all the features on each page as well as clear descriptions of the relationships between pages. In these designs it is important to realise that it may not be you who will develop the web site. What will the hierarchy of the pages be? How will this information be marketed?

3. Lastly create visual storyboards for the pages using color and text. All the design elements need to be clear and the heading text should be worked out. Content text (descriptions, etc.) may be saved for later. The storyboards can be done with paper and pen away from the computer if you wish, but may be done using a graphics program on the computer. Be careful about using "canned" planning programs and PowerPoint templates as they tend to be too limiting.

You will not be implementing your web site - someone else will be. Give accurate details about size, shape, location, colour and font for every item. What sort of text will appear on which page - give an overview to the content without writing it.

  1. Ideas on how many pages?
  2. What the theme will be?
  3. What will the colour scheme be?
  4. What animation will be used?
  5. What type of content will be required?

What types of pistons have you come across? These would make ideal buttons for the website. Implement this into your plan.
