Session 1 Exercise 2
System Analysts mainly deal with people.
They need to be able to do most or all of the following:
- Listen Patiently
- Take Good Notes
- Extract information without giving offence
- Conceptualise computer systems
- Document systems using agreed standards
- Think outside the box
- Think laterally
- Solve Problems
- Organise themselves.
- Think Logically
There are a series of problems to solve here, some by your self other in groups. Some are class activities. You need to attempt all of the exercises one way or another.
- Box of Coco Pops 600g. How many coco pops are in the box - to the nearest 10.
- The river Pregel divides the town of Konigsberg into four separate land masses, A, B, C, and D. Seven bridges connect the various parts of town, and some of the town's curious citizens wondered if it were possible to take a journey across all seven bridges without having to cross any bridge more than once.

- Listen to a short talk on St Mary's Church. You cannot take notes. You will be given several quetions to answer at the end. This to the whole group once only.
- Watch a card Trick. Philip will perform this when you ask him to. He will do this to the whole group once.
- Solve 10 Eulers Puzzles Start at puzzle 1. I will put these up on the board for you to prove that you can solve them at the end.
- Construct a bridge made only of A4 sheets of paper to go from one desk to another. It must support itself. No other materials can be used. It must be able to stay up for a reasonable time.
- How does a church organ work? Ask Philip. You will be asked some detailed questions later. This can only be done once as a group.
- Given the following list. Link them up as best as you can with explanations.

9. Draw a diagram of the main components of a computer. Colour code it.
