In common with many other professional bodies, the computing industry has a number of professional bodies that people with the right qualifications and experience can join.
Find out what professional bodies there are, what the requirements to join them are and what benefits there are in joining them. Present you findings in a table.
Some of these bodies hagve codes of conduct or good practice, which govern what is acceptable practice in the industry. Print out at least one of these and discuss in small groups what each point of the code means and how it might be applied in the real world.
There are also two organisations (BSA and FAST) that support the interests of companies that write software, particularly with regard to raising the awareness of copyright abuse. What do these organisations actually do? How do they encourage awareness of the issue?
