Let us try this out on one web page before using this a comparison tool.
Write down the % for the current B&Q homepage for each area.
It is important to consider the resolution of the browser. Use the same browser and resolution for each test.
Measure each box as a rectangle (or made up from rectangles) and add up all the areas. Use Photoshop to help you do this. Put this data into an excel spreadsheet and sum up the areas for each category.
In Excel produce a spreadsheet similar to that below and add the correct data. Produce a Pie chart of the result.
